The rare harmony of the manor milieu is a consequence of Finland’s Civil War of 1918, when the estate buildings were all razed to the ground. As on so many previous occasions in its thousand-year history, Laukko rose again from the ashes, finer than ever.

The farm and residential buildings dating from the 1920s-40s are still in traditional use. Machines are repaired in the workshop and oats are stored in the granary. The cattle sheds have, however, been converted into stables.
