Archaeological treasures

The value of antiquities lies in their ability to remind us of times about which literary sources are silent. The Viking-age weapons and jewellery prove that life was prosperous in the area around Laukko over a thousand years ago.

In addition to prehistoric times the Laukko Historicum archaeological collection reflects life in the days of the noble Kurck family (c. 1400-1800).

The metal barrel taps bear witness to a European drinking culture, fragments of tiled stoves and glass goblets to the aristocratic lifestyle of former Laukko masters.
