Juhani and Leena Lagerstam bought Laukko from the Haarla estate in 1968, and once again a new, creative era dawned. In the course of its history Laukko has seen many bold visionaries, and no dream was too big for Juhani Lagerstam (1940-2006) to make come true.

 

The Lagerstams first set about modernising the dairy farming and promoting Finnish equestrian sport. At the start of the 1980s Juhani Lagerstam began building up a stud farm of international standard for breeding champion trotting horses bearing the name of his home estate.

 

For nearly thirty years Laukko horses have been reaping fame on Finnish and international race courses. The Laukko stud farm is now owned by Erkki Lagerstam.

Liisa Lagerstam and Laukko Historicum continues the family dedication to history, antiques and art.
